Authentic Vintage Georg Jensen Sterling Silver & Carnelian Brooch — Design #77
Up for sale is a stunning, authentic example of the classic Art Nouveau Design #77 brooch by the world-renowned Danish silversmith Georg Jensen. This particular piece is highly collectable, featuring an uncommon combination of early hallmarks that dates its production precisely between 1933 and 1944.
Design & Materials:
  • Stones: Features three beautifully matched, vibrant red carnelian cabochons on the front. The stones display rich colour and excellent depth under natural light.
  • Metal: Solid .925 Sterling Silver with a beautiful, authentic vintage patina.
  • Closure: Features the traditional mid-century safety barrel hinge and pin stem, which remain fully functional and secure.
Rare WWII-Era Hallmarks:
The reverse side is fully stamped with crisp, verified period markings:
  • The rare, rectangular "GJ" monogram cartouche used exclusively from 1933 to 1944.
  • Stamped "925" and "STERLING" confirming the standard of silver.
  • Stamped "DENMARK" alongside the design pattern number "77".
Condition:
This brooch is in Very Good vintage condition. It has been carefully preserved, retaining its original, unpolished patina that collectors highly desire (the buyer can polish it to a bright shine if preferred). The silverwork is crisp, the pin closure operates smoothly, and all three carnelian stones are completely intact, with no chips, cracks, or loose mounts.
Shipping & Handling:
The item will be securely packed and shipped via a tracked, insured shipping service to ensure safe arrival. Please review all macro photographs carefully as they form part of the condition description.
