Antique Scottish Sterling Silver Bonbon Dishes | George Edward & Sons, Glasgow 1904
An exceptionally elegant and distinctive matching pair of authentic Edwardian Scottish sterling silver bonbon dishes (tazzas), crafted in a classic Arts & Crafts flared pedestal form by the renowned Glasgow silversmiths George Edward & Sons.
The bowls feature a beautiful hand-hammered, planished finish that reflects the light wonderfully, embodying the honest craftsmanship of the early 20th-century design movement. Each piece is elevated by a stylised tri-form support structure composed of sweeping, organic Art Nouveau whiplash tendrils that converge seamlessly onto an inverted-dome foot.
A wonderful addition for serious silver collectors, historic dining displays, or as a sophisticated antique gift with genuine turn-of-the-century Scottish artistic character.
