Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Vesta Case | Thomas Hayes, Birmingham 1895

An authentic late-Victorian sterling silver vesta case (match safe), showcasing the pinnacle of late 19th-century British pocket utility and craftsmanship, made by Thomas Hayes of the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter.

The case features a classic rounded rectangular form, lavishly decorated with crisp, deeply hand-engraved foliate and scrollwork patterns on both faces. The front features a central wavy-edged cartouche framing an elegant stylised script monogram, while a suspension loop sits proudly at the top for attachment to an Albert pocket watch chain. A built-in ridged striker surface runs along the bottom edge.

A wonderful addition for serious silver collectors, pocket watch enthusiasts, or as a sophisticated antique gift with genuine 130-year-old historical patina.
