Vintage Oak Two-Bottle Tantalus with Crystal Decanters & Key

Vintage Oak Two-Bottle Tantalus with Crystal Decanters & Key

A vintage two-bottle tantalus with an oak caddy, silver-toned fittings and two square cut-crystal decanters with faceted ball stoppers. The warm wood and patterned glass make an attractive display for a sideboard, study or home bar.

Please note: although the lock operates with the supplied key, the decanters can currently be lifted out while the top bar is locked. The set is therefore not secure against bottle removal in its present configuration.

Condition & Locking Mechanism

• Light cosmetic wear and ageing to the oak casing.
• Decanters are described in the existing condition report as structurally sound, with crisp cut decoration and no major chips.
• The lock and mechanism operate with the supplied key.
• There is clearance beneath the locked top bar, allowing the decanters to be removed. The existing notes suggest raising the bottles on square coasters; this adjustment has not been verified as a secure solution.
• Minor storage wear to the felt backing.
