An exceptionally charming matching set of authentic mid-century Scandinavian sterling silver coffee spoons, showcasing a vibrant harlequin palette of translucent engine-turned guilloche enamel.

Housed in its original retail presentation box, the set features six distinct coloured bowls — white, yellow, brown, vibrant green, deep green, and blue — each finished with a beautiful internal gold-wash (gilt) lining that radiates warmth through the glasswork. Crafted by N.M. Thune (Est. 1857), one of Oslo's most celebrated silversmith houses.

A wonderful addition for mid-century design enthusiasts, vintage dining displays, or as a character-rich, usable addition to a contemporary coffee service.

The reverse of each spoon handle carries a crisp, matching set of Norwegian silver stamps:

• Maker's Mark: Capital 'T' inside a shield cartouche — N.M. Thune, premier Oslo silversmith (Est. 1857)
• Fineness Mark: 925S — guaranteed high-purity solid sterling silver
• Retailer Mark (box cover): Juveler Sverre Nielsen, Oslo — dating the commercial assembly of this set to c.1958

Condition

Good vintage condition with wonderful character consistent with nearly 70 years of history. We describe condition honestly so you know exactly what you are buying:

• Five spoons (white, yellow, brown, and both greens) remain in excellent vintage condition with intact gold gilt and bright, beautiful enamel clarity
• The blue spoon shows significant historical wear from daily use, with approximately 30mm of enamel loss to the centre of the stem — clearly the original owner's favourite
• The exposed silver bed on the blue spoon is completely smooth with no jagged edges or splits; the remaining surrounding enamel is stable
• The original cream presentation case shows light age-related scuffing and faint interior lining marks, but the hinges operate smoothly and close securely
